Not as useful as a hard copy book.

I work in the medical field and wanted quick reference for medical terms (preferably with illustrations) for my new Kindle Paperwhite and/or my Galaxy Tab. The idea was to be able to quickly look up anything from vasculature to bone structure to pathology in one easy reference. The way this book is indexed it is too slow and difficult to look things up. It is actually faster for me to walk down the hall to the reference library, find the appropriate book, photocopy a page, and return, than it is to go to the alphabetical index on the kindle and page through until you find the term. The search function is slower yet and gives either nothing found or 40 pages of excerpts where the term is used but without a definition. It frequently gave "no results" for simple terms like "diabetes", "sinus tarsi", and "siphon".

Best one I have bought and I now have 3

This one is the best one I have found and I have bought three including this one. I bought the other two in past semesters and found that I needed to keep going elsewhere for key information I needed for study. I really like that each term is in boldface color. And there are many diagrams and pictures to help you visualize the part of the anatomy that some of the terms are referring to. It is a must have for any medical/nursing student. I also recommend getting the Mosby's flash cards also. They are the most detailed.

We are simply not mindful or disciplined eaters. Dr. Siegel's candor regarding the toxic foods we ingest every day is nothing short of startlingly. It is clear, from this most timely book, that there is no magic bullet in achieving a healthy body. But we should not despair. Dr. Siegel empowers us with a detailed `road map' to healthy and enjoyable eating. I particularly sparked to the importance of learning to identify the difference between hunger on an emotional basis and hunger on a physical basis. A wonderful, much needed, highly readable and informative book. Everyone can relate to it, if even in secret with just him or her self admitting to these behaviors. This last year I have been obsessed with food due to a problem of insulinoma. It is indeed carbs that do all kinds of bad stuff. I eat only healthly carbs, such as fruit and whole grains and have gained a lot of weight. Luckily I was thin at the start. The good news is that the high insulin, low blood sugar has just about returned to normal this last month so I am very excited to return to normal eating, using your book as a quide. A Spectacular Book About Healthy Eating Habits

This is a down to earth, crisply written book about improving our awareness of healthful eating habits. As a psychotherapist, I was blown away by his knowledge as to the emotional aspects behind unhealthful eating. Dr. Siegel gives relevent examples of people who had been able to realize their negative eating patterns. He also gives many personal examples of his own eating challenges, and how he has overcome them. He shows great humility in this regard. I particularly liked his "100 Valuable Nuggets and Tidbits" at the end of his book. I highly recommend this book to people with eating concerns, whether those concerns are for improving their nutritional health, and for those who need to be made aware of their own eating disorders and how to overcome their distructive patterns.

I am a man, so I can only attest to the male perspectives and observations in this book. It was alarming how much insight I got about myself. And better ways to listen and communicate with my lovely wife. It's been a big help for me.

The book repeats a lot. And normally, I think that's bad writing. But, I'm pretty sure I needed to hear some of the same things again and again. Big insight.

We do not have a troubled relationship whatsoever but want to keep our relationship going strong and this is one way we find helps us. The book is easy to read and has lots of great tips and information. There are personal stories included from people the author has met over the years that help keep the book interesting. Some of the personal stories may ring true to your own situation and it is helpful to remember you are not the only one going through a certain situation.

They say most traders lose, but here's a book about a relative handful, called "Option Wizards," (a take-off on the "Market Wizards" book by Jack Schwager of some years ago), who purport to make money in the options markets, regularly, not all of the time, but most of the time. How do they do it? How can you do it, too? That's the question. The author lifts the hood, so to speak, and lets you see all the moving parts on their financial wizardry: what kind of trade, how to initiate the trade, how to "adjust" it when the market moves against you, and how and when to exit. Much more detail here than is usually offered in these kinds of things. Covers the "delta neutral" style of trading: butterflies, calendar spreads, double diagonals, condors. Speaking of which. I particularly enjoyed the piece on the Queen of the Condors, Amy Meissner; it proves trading doesn't have to be just another boy's club. On the minus side, this is not a beginner's text, it doesn't say "this is a put," "this is a call," type of thing. I would say it's more intermediate to advanced, but if you know even a bit about options, it's well worth reading. A distillation of the trading smarts from some of the very best out there. Will this book make you a millionaire? Will a book on running make you a marathoner? No to both questions, there is some blood, sweat and tears involved in these kinds of things -- but both will get you pointed in the right direction, get you started. In running, you have to hit the pavement; here, at least, you can paper trade before putting your cash on the line.

This is a must read for serious option traders. The paperback is definitely recommended over the Kindle formatted version. Amazon formatting aside and focusing purely on content, this compilation of John's articles synthesizes essential option trading concepts and techniques.

Pretty good read on digital strategy and thoughts around driving business change for the new economy. I think one of the hardest challenges right now is being that change agent to move culture and business in a direction that many of the older, less agile employees are comfortable in dealing with. This books gives some good pointers in and talking points in addressing these points.

Louisa May Alcott (November 29, 1832 – March 6, 1888) was an American novelist best known as author of the novel Little Women and its sequels Little Men and Jo's Boys.[1] Raised by her transcendentalist parents, Abigail May and Amos Bronson Alcott in New England, she grew up among many of the well-known intellectuals of the day such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau. Nevertheless, her family suffered severe financial difficulties and Alcott worked to help support the family from an early age. She began to receive critical success for her writing in the 1860s. Early in her career, she sometimes used the pen name A. M. Barnard. Published in 1868, Little Women is set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House, in Concord, Massachusetts and is loosely based on Alcott's childhood experiences with her three sisters. The novel was very well received and is still a popular children's novel today. Alcott was an abolitionist and a feminist. She died in Boston.
