The book definitely has some Texas swagger: from the assertion that mushroom-hunting in Texas is a year-round activity to pride in the diversity of mushrooms in East Texas…to the receipe for Texas-hot Pickled Mushrooms. I wouldn't have had the courage to pick and eat the mushrooms growing under my ash tree (Boletinellus merulioides) without this guide. If it is growing in Texas, it's in this book.

I have several 1st edition books autograph(sarcastically by Susan) although It was not my Hobby.... I went along on the forays!!!! Jim Loved it!! ( My Husband.....RIP..)
When I called Susan in the mist of my pain to let her know Jim had passed at 55 yrs old..... She said, Good Riddance..... I still recommend the Book As a Wonderful guide. Susan, after 9 years your response is the only one I remember as cold and heartless.
